| Q. Manco talon lh260 2004. Hold spark plug against block. Fires once on first revolution of motor. Keep cranking no more spark. Any ideas.? A. Well, this is not a typical ignition problem, it's actually a bit unusual. Unusual things happen when wires go bad. I am reluctant to recommend replacing the cdi or coil because I have never heard of this before. I would lean toward a wiring or wiring harness issue. Possible corroded or loose ground connection or maybe even a bad plug wire. Also check for broken insulation on any wiring coming in contact with the frame or engine case. | Q. new battery in quad but click comes from solenoid when button pressed ,is it the starter or solenoid or something else ? thanks A. It could be the starter or the cabling leading to the starter. This includes your ground wire, make sure you have a good clean ground. The solenoid clicks when it extends the starter gear and the starter turns the flywheel. | Q. i have eton 150quad no spark got new cdi now it blows fuse A. Hate to say it, but if all is connected correctly there is the possibility of a bad cdi. This is not common but it is a possibility. | Q. The starter does work but it doesnt turn the flywheel A. If the starter turns while not under load, it may still be faulty. Can you move the flywheel by hand or with a bar? | Q. i have a 600 grizzly. (99) for the last few rides i get about 4-7 kms then it wont run. turns over have spark etc. my question is can the coil get weak enough to fire in the chamber? can i bring another coil for a different machine & try it? & can it hurt anything? A. I can't guarantee a coil with different specs wouldn't cause damage so it would be best to stick with the proper coil. | Q. 50cc Eton TXL starter does not seem to engage, i took it off and watched it run, it seems to funtion properly. I think it is somrthing inside the case tht is the problem. It also will not kickstart, there is very little throw in the lever when you truy to kick start it. Any Ideas A. Sounds like a gear may be out of mesh or possibly broke some teeth. How often does it need lubricated? A. It would need to be greased, and if it is not a standard grease fitting you may need an adapter for your grease gun. | Q. Does the 2004 Panterra 90cc ATV take transmission fluid? What type of engine oil to put in it. Is it a 2 or 4 stroke? thanks A. If it has oil injection, it is a two stroke. As for engine oil, you'll need to consult your manual for exact specs but synthethic 10w-40 would be my guess. Again, the Panterra service manual is the key. It will have plenty of other answers for questions you didn't even know you had yet. | Q. My son got a quad for doing some work for someone. We can not find the VIN. The only number we can find is the number on the starter 7GLDXO2ONFG. I am not sure if the o's are letters or numbers. A. Most likely they are zeros as the manufacturers typically avoid the letter o because of the confusion it might cause. | Q. I have a Suzuki LT230 and the headlight won't work, how do I fix this? A. First you need to determine if it as simple as a bad headlight bulb. A Suzuki headlight bulb is easy to take out of the housing. The bulb must be removed and tested with an ohmeter.
